About

Each year, The RegTech Association awards a Founder-Led RegTech firm with best pitch by awarding their #AccelerateR award. This year, as we see momentum building around Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) impacts for companies and institutions across multiple sectors and the growing level of importance of ESG to investors, we think this is an opportunity to engage with early stage RegTech companies. Have you aligned with ESG and are you ready to deploy RegTech solutions that can demonstrate a deep connection and potential impact that underpin ESG goals and objectives? If so this is for you.

This Award recognises the best RegTech pitch and receives our #AccelerateR 2022 Award. We are looking for a RegTech superstar! We will be looking for those who have been able to best articulate the problem they solve, the solution and market appetite, the business model and scalability, relevance to ESG and most of all, the best pitch delivery on the day. Should you be selected as a finalist, your company will be amplified on digital media, the ultimate winner will receive specific digital assets and be included in a multi channel release. Rather than awarding a trophy, we will make a donation to the First Nation’s Foundation – an Australian Indigenous Financial Literacy Foundation – thus supporting greater financial inclusion.

Applications will be invited from RegTech solutions providers who are solving an institutional, business-related or regulatory problem and who can clearly demonstrate that their solutions make a significant impact on Environmental Social & Governance (ESG) performance. You must have a minimum viable product (MVP).

Judging

Judging will be done over two rounds, the first to determine the five finalists and the final round on the day at the event. This will be live pitching led by an experienced Pitch Master and will be live judging from a panel of corporate experts and our PitchFest sponsors Investment NSW. You must be available to pitch live, online on the day (7 April AEST). We are expecting 1,000 registrations to the live streams or recipients of the post-event recordings, so a reminder that this is a global audience and we expect somewhere between 50-70 countries.

Entry criteria

    • Keep your answers succinct. In some fields you only have 250 characters.
    • You do not need to be a member of the RTA and a reminder that we will have a global audience.
    • You will be an RegTech company most likely founded since 2017.
    • You can be pre-revenue and pre-series B but must have an MVP with at least one customer or client.
    • The solution you present must solve regulatory or compliance challenges but can be sector agnostic or aligned to a specific or a number of regulated industries.
    • You must include clear alignment with ESG principles.
    • You must be prepared to pitch online, in English, live on 7 April 2022 (AEST) – Note: if you are based in US/Europe/UK this may be day prior.
    • You must be registered to attend the #ACCELERATERegTech2022 conference. www.regtech.org.au/accelerateregtech2022.
    • If chosen as a finalist, you must be prepared to attend an online briefing session prior to the Pitch event.
    • You must be prepared to have media/social media coverage if you are a finalist or eventual recipient.
    • Exact time and details of pre-briefing and the live Pitch will be confirmed to you via email if you are chosen as a finalist.
    • If selected as a finalist, you will be sent further information in relation to the Pitch itself including the presentation style, timings and technology being used.
    • You are required to insert a link to a compulsory one-minute video explaining your value proposition. This does not need to be highly produced and will not be shown on the day of the Pitch. This is for first round judges information only.
